Educational Trip to Dhara Lifescience, Vadsar, Ahmedabad on 19th December-2023

On 19th December 2023, a group of BSc-MSc Forensic Science students and MSc Forensic Science students from Narnarayan Shastri Institute of Technology (NSITI-IFSCS), affiliated to the National Forensic Sciences University, visited Dhara Life Science Private Limited in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to forensic science techniques and applications in a professional setting.

Welcome and Introduction:

The visit began with a warm welcome and introduction by the team at Dhara Life Science Private Limited. Students were briefed about the company’s services and areas of expertise.

 

Laboratory Tour:

Students were taken on a comprehensive tour of the various laboratories present in Dhara Life Sciences. They had the opportunity to observe various instrumental analysis techniques and the tour provided valuable insights into the equipment, procedures, and methodologies used in industries.

 

Interactive Sessions:

Students engaged in interactive sessions with the team. They discussed case studies, real-life challenges, and the role of technology in advancing analytical practices. Students had the chance to ask questions, seek clarifications, and learn from the experiences shared by industry professionals.

Demonstrations:

The visit included live demonstrations of instrumental techniques especially dealing with various chemicals involved in pharma industries. Students witnessed demonstrations of testing of various samples using different sophisticated instruments that are basically used in Laboratories. These demonstrations enhanced their understanding of the practical applications of forensic science principles.

Instruments:

The students were given a complete explanation of sample analysis starting from its sampling or pre-treatment to its analytical analysis and report writing.

Students were given hands-on training on various instruments such as GC-MS, HPLC, UV- Vis spectrophotometry and FT-IR.
